Rosie Caballero is your average 24 year old girl. She struggles through her job, cares for her dog Tootie, and oh yeah, she just won the 600 million dollar lottery! When Rosie enters her new life of fame and fortune, she is quckly hounded by paparazzi, old "friends", and lots of greedy con artists. Rosie soaks up the advantages of being rich and gladly shares her riches with the main family she has left: her cousin Cheeto and her grandmother Abuela. There seems to be nothing in the world Rosie can't buy. Then she meets Brad Merritt; the hottie actor that is Rosie and millions of other women's heartthrob. Her life is at its high, but a chain of very unfortunate events forces Rosie to look at the things she has in life, and the things she just doesn't.

Opinion:

"Lucky Chica" blew me away with it's addicting plot and lovable characters. It felt just like I was standing with Rosie as she gawked at her $600 million lottery ticket. It's a little sad in parts, but it all comes together in the end. Berta Platas did an excellent job of keeping me interested and "Lucky Chica" grasped my attention from page 1. This is by far one of the best books I've ever read. The story just puts you in a great mood when you've finished. I would definatly recommend it to young adult readers who enjoy lighthearted fun and a satisfying ending.
