Newes from the Dead is a phenomenal book. This horrifying true story will hold your interest from beginning to end. The vivid descriptions will send chills up your spine. It is a must read, in my opinion. Definitely one of my favorite books.

Opinion:

This story takes place in 1650. It is about Anne Green, a maid who is falsely accused of killing her infant. She is convicted by a corrupt court. Despite her innocence, she is hung for infanticide. Something strange happens though, Anne Green awakens to darkness. She remembers being hung, but cannot discern where she is now. She cannot decide if she is in heaven, hell, or perhaps even buried a live. She tries to keep her sanity by recalling everything that happened before her hanging. In her confusion, she does not realize is she is laying on a dissection table. A young medical student is attending his very first dissection. However, while in the room he notices something; he could have sworn he just saw the corpse's eyelid's flutter. He explains his concern to the other men in the dissection room, but everyone thinks he is simply seeing things. Can he save Anne before it is too late?
