Abandoned at birth in the Deepwoods, Twig is living with a family of woodtrolls. One day, his adopted mother tells Twig that she is not his real mother and he must travel to his cousin's and hopefully he will find his destiny. Twig strays from the path that leads to his cousin's house, and he is lost in the dangerous Deepwoods. Twig has many adventures in the woods, and he meets many different creatures. Twig also learns many lessons, about nature and the ways of life. Twig wanders very far, but has still not found where his life lies. Until, he meets the most ferocious and feared creature in all of the Deepwoods,....... the Gloamglozer.

Opinion:

This book showed a lot about life, and about how one thing revolves around and needs another thing. Even something vicious and deathly can be very important to some other race of creatures. This book also shows that everyone is unique, and is important in many ways. Even if you are an outcast like Twig, you might be extremely important to another group of creatures. The author/s had a great way of writing, and it almost seemed as if I was watching a movie because I could see such a clear picture in my mind. I would also feel the characters feelings, whether scared or excited. This book kept me reading, and the author had a great way to make the words flow and create a crystal clear image.
