LitPick Review
Napoleon and Josephine is about Rose Tascher de La Pagerie, who married Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon changed her name to Josephine This book covers Josephines life, from her 14th birthday until her death. The book shows many of her trials and tribulations, from marrying her first husband, Alexandre, who hated her, to being locked in the Carmelite prison and almost being executed during the French Revolution, to meeting and marrying Napoleon and being crowned his empress.
Opinion:
This book is interesting because it shows Napoleon from a different perspective, his wifes, but overall I did not like the book as well as some others. It is a historical fiction/ biography, and overall this genre is not very appealing to me. As historical fiction/ biography, this book did not have a moral. I would not recommend this book unless someone was very into the lives of Napoleon and Josephine.
