Charlie Bone and the Invisible Boy is a really good book. The main character, Charlie, is a brave and smart boy who stands up to his enemies. Charlie goes to a school called Bloor's Academy. The school is for music, art, and drama talented kids. It also has a section for differently talented kids, the endowed ones. They are the descendents of the Red King and have magical powers. Charlie is endowed and can talk to and sometimes enter pictures and portraits. This talent leads him to trouble, but also helps him. In this book, Charlie's evil great aunts are plotting something. A mysterious 12-year-old girl named Belle appears, and she's staying with his great aunts, so it makes him suspicious. Her eyes change color like they don't know what color they are supposed to be. Meanwhile, Charlie meets an invisible boy named Ollie Sparks. Ollie had been turned invisible by an old man named Ezekiel. Ollie was starting to annoy Ezekiel, so he sent a boa that turns you invisible after him. Ollie is forgotten and lonely in his tiny room in the attic. He wants to be visible again and Charlie tries to help him. Belle seems to want to keep Charlie from helping Ollie. She distracts him from helping him by using the great aunt's plot. Charlie's uncle, Paton, disappears and Charlie notices that his aunts are very happy about it. One day, Paton comes back, but he is older, and very tired. Charlie wants to cure Paton and make Ollie visible again, but his aunts and Belle will do anything to stop him. Charlie visits an evil 14th century sorcerer's painting and asks him how to cure Paton. The sorcerer escapes his painting and makes chaos. The sorcerer is scared in a different time and wants to go home. Charlie agrees to take him go home if he helps cure Paton. The sorcerer accepts and cures Paton. Charlie is still trying to help Ollie, but it is not working, especially with Belle in the way.

Opinion:

Cover to cover, this book is full of mystery and suspense. It is an exciting book about Charlie and his adventures against mean people while he helps the nicer ones.
