Dayven has always wanted to be a Guardian for his army of Tharn, and as he grows up he becomes better and better with the sword. Then, he comes to a period in time when he must take the wizard test, to see if he has magic, and will become a wizard. When Dayven takes the test he passes, and now everyone knows he has magic, but Dayven still wants to be a Guardian. The Masters of Guardians tell Dayven that he can become a Guardian, but he can be a wizard and spy on the other wizards to make sure they are loyal to Tharn. Dayven decides to take up this challenge. Dayven's wizard master seems very loyal to Tharn as he spies on the Cenzar (the enemy). The night before Dayven leaves Cenzar, he spies on his master with a friend. Dayven hears that his master really is disloyal to Tharn, but his master doesn't know that Dayven was spying. On the way back to Tharn, Dayven's master tells him that he knows why Dayven is here, and he knows that Dayven spied on him. He tells him why he is doing this, and it is because Tharn and it's villagers have been destroying the land, and Cenzar is good to the land. He asks Dayven if he will tell Tharn or go with the plan for Cenzar. Now, Dayven has to choose if he will be loyal to Tharn, or go with the Cenzar to help make the land a better place. Even if he tells Tharn of the Cenzar plan, will that be enough to stop them?
Opinion:
This book kept me reading because there was always such big choices to be made, and exciting, risky events. This book also helped you appreciate nature and it's wonders, and that even magic can't always be as powerful as nature. This book also teaches you about decision making, and that good decisions may be hard to make. Also the decisions might be almost impossible to decide. You can also make friends with people that you would normally least like. This book taught you a lot about life, and how to handle it. The ending was very suprising because Dayven gave away all he had just because he wanted the best for the land, and the cenzar. He aslo realized that a lot of Cenzar ways are better than Tharn ways. He also realized that a lot of things told by the Tharn, are biased and untrue. They make it seem like Tharn is the good guys, and the Cenzar and magicians are evil.
