The main characters in this book are Charlie, Henry and Bone. Bone is a dog who has a sister Squirrel and they are born in a shed. Then, they loose their mother. Bone and Squirrel must survive on their own. Then, when Bone and Squirrel find a home and think they can live as a family. Unfortunately, they get abandoned and thrown in a parking lot and a girl comes and picks up Bone and leaves Squirrel behind. Now Bone will have to live with out Squirrel. Will he be able to survive alone? Charlie is a young boy who was once a younger brother to a boy named RJ.
