Sally Vega lives a boring but contented life- until she meets a mysterious man named October Quinn on the way to work. Without even knowing her name, let alone her personality, he asks her if "she wants a ride," and she accepts. Sally does not know who this October Quinn character is or what his question means, but she decides her life is in need of a change. Quinn whisks Sally away on the adventure of a lifetime. They travel from city to city around the U.S. trying to solve a puzzle Quinn was given by a friend before the friend's death.
