Radioactive (The Atlas of Cursed Places)
Radioactive
Vanessa Acton
Every year Zack and his family spend a week at a Pacific island getaway. The ocean is beautiful, the town is quaint, and the people are easygoing. It's a great place to relax. So why do the locals seem so tense this year? There's definitely trouble in paradise when a tourist goes missing. Local legend has it that the locale is cursed since nuclear testing there in the 1950s. It sounds like fiction, but is it?

Profile Picture

When Zack and his family go to their usual vacation spot, he realizes something is different; there are fewer people than usual. When a few people go missing, Zack and his friends decide to figure out what is going on. Zack and his friends, Lamar and Nola, are having supper with Nola’s grandfather. Her grandfather tells them a story about how different countries did nuclear bomb tests underground. They figure out a nuclear bomb test was done under the mountain near them years ago. They end up finding The Atlas of Cursed Places, which gives them a few answers.
