This book is about Earth in the distant future. The world has been changed by a massive explosion, and it ran out of petroleum products. A company invented Aki-Energy and is using it to power a massive city called Vanguard. Little do the inventors know that the use of Aki-Energy is poisoning the planet. The people who do know are different than everybody else. They all have a "seed" in them. A seed is a being from another world who inhabits the person's body and gives them powers beyond belief.
