Kyle and his best friend Mike have a big dream. They want to play college football together. But that all changes when Mike takes a big hit in a game. He starts acting strange, and finally confesses to Kyle he has a concussion. But then the state comes out with high school concussion tests. If Mike doesn't pass, he won't play. If he can't play, he can't get a football scholarship. That would crush their dreams. But Kyle figures out how to beat the tests. Mike keeps playing, but his confusion gets him taken from the starting lineup anyway.
