Everyone hated them. Everyone wanted to be them. The three girls, Penn, Lexi, and Thea, were outstandingly beautiful, and in a way they were also scary. And didn't there used to be four of them? No one seemed to know where she went. They all strutted around the city of Capri and pretty much did whatever they wanted which really bothered Gemma and her sister Harper. They would do anything to avoid being by Penn and the others, but Penn and the others seemed really interested in being with Gemma. They loved that she was determined and brave and of course, a good swimmer. After having been forced to join their group Gemma had to decide to leave everything in Capri or face the consequences that came with leaving the group.

Opinion:

"Wake" was an amazing and clever story. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. It was such an intense book that I couldn't wait to read what would happen next. Amanda Hocking is a great author and has come up with a cool story line. I would recommend this book for high school age and up because there is some harsh language and also some parts that may be too gruesome for younger readers. I really liked it and I cannot wait to read the next book of the series.
