Levi was excited for his brother Boaz to come back from Iraq, but he was scared he wouldn't be the same. He just happened to be right. The moment Boaz stepped in the door he headed to his room and stayed there. He only came out for meals and when their grandfather, Dov, took them out for Chinese food, not only did Levi think it was strange that Bo insisted on walking instead of riding in the car with them, but while they were eating he announced that he was going to hike the Appalachian Trail. However, Levi didn't buy the story. He knew something was up. While Bo sets off on his trip, Levi and his best friends, Pearl and Zim, try to figure out where he's going and why. To do that Levi just might have to tag-along.

Opinion:

The Things a Brother Knows is an awesome book about two brothers that grow together from a very long journey. The book was slow at first, but once I started reading more it became very suspenseful. I would recommend this book to High School level students. There is a lot of swearing and some kids might not be able to handle it. It also has a part where he is getting into a strong relationship.
