Solid by Shelley Workinger is about a seventeen-year-old girl named Clio. This summer she finds out she is part of a genetic experiment done by an army doctor, exploring chromosome 9. She goes off to a camp for two weeks with the rest of the genetic experiments so the army can study them to see if the genetic experiment had any effects. While Clio is there, some things start to seem like they aren't adding up. With her new friends, they set out to get some answers.

Opinion:

I really loved reading this book. The author has a sense of humor, which she portrays through the characters. Also, the author describes the settings so well I felt as if I was there. With the variety of characters in Clio's group, readers can relate to at least one of them. It kept my attention the whole time, because the author had just the right amount of suspense, by foreshadowing enough of the plot to keep me interested. I was disappointed at the climax, because it wasn't as spectacular as the rising action. Still, it was realistic and definitely not over dramatized. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends because it is very enthralling.
