LitPick Review
Porcelain Soldier is an autobiographical journal about the author's journey through a tough time in her life. She was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2006 after being rushed to the hospital for severe arm pains. It was a completely unexpected diagnosis, and it changed Kelli Davis' life. No one really tells you how to live life after cancer, and this is the story of just how Ms. Davis managed it.
Opinion:
I found this book to be an interesting and informative read. I was completely unaware of how cancer patients dealt with the knowledge of their diagnosis, and this book was a peek into that world. I learned a lot about chemotherapy and various treatments for cancer, as well as how a patient may emotionally cope with their illness. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone wondering how a patient goes through cancer treatment.
