Do you have a problem? Did you lose something? Mudshark will help you find it. Mudshark, besides being the coolest kid in school, has a photographic memory, so he can solve any problem. Once someone lost their shoe and went directly to Mudshark. Mudshark remembered that the student lost their shoe right next to locker seventy-four on the right side of the hallway. Because Mudshark was so good at solving problems, he made his own detective agency. Then, a parrot shows up in the library and seems to outwit Mudshark. Plus, the erasers in the school have mysteriously vanished from all the rooms. Mudshark will have to think of a plan to solve the eraser crises, and get his reputation back.

Opinion:

Mudshark by Gary Paulson is comedy that will make you laugh so hard you cry. The comical tone of the book makes the story just an easy and fun read. Also, the writing style of the book is different. After Paulson tells about his background, the book then tells the stories of how Mudshark helped people and by telling these stories, the plot is introduced. It was confusing at first, but then the plot became clearer. Although it was confusing, Gary Paulson did write a humorous story about a middle school boy. After reading some of Gary Paulson's other books, Mudshark is the best book he has written so far. Mudshark was not as action packed as Brian's Winter or Hatchet, but it was moving, simple, and an easy read for a rainy day. I would recommend this book to every person of every age who likes to laugh!
