LitPick Review
Alice has always been mysterious. She's quiet and doesn't talk about herself much , not even to her closest friends. Alice's boyfriend is always moody and making her go into different moods as well. Nobody really knows why she acts this way, but Alice knows the truth. One day, she runs into an investigator who she has been serving at the coffee shop. They start talking and she hears who he is researching - Jennifer Jones, the child murderer who is supposedly still in jail. Suddenly her whole world stops because Alice knows what has really happened to Jennifer Jones.
Opinion:
I thought Looking for JJ was an okay book. First, I did not enjoy the author's writing style. Anne Cassidy is a great author but in this book, she uses too many flashbacks. At times it was confusing to figure out if you were in the past or the present. Also, most of the characters were rude or snobby. Although Cassidy does a good job of developing the characters, I wish she had added some different ones with other types of personalities. Overall, it was an average read. It was well written, but missing some things that would have made it really great. I would recommend this book to teens with an interest in mysteries.
