Seventeen year old Annika Truman knows that positive thinking helps people get through hard times. When her six year old brother, Jeremy, is diagnosed with cancer she is determined to keep him thinking positively. She tells Jeremy that she has a genie and she will give him one of her wishes. When he wishes to meet the star of a T.V. show named "Teen Robin Hood" Annika doesn't know what to do, so she embarks on a journey to convince "Robin Hood" to come home with her and talk to Jeremy before his next surgery. Convincing Robin Hood to come home with her, Annika has many adventures including a bet.

Opinion:

I thought the Just One Wish was a very good book. In the beginning, I thought that the events happened a bit too fast, but then it slowed down to the right speed for most readers. I liked how there was romance, comedy, and, unfortunately, death. I really liked how brave Annika was and how much she was willing to risk for Jeremy. Additionally, I thought it was interesting to see how both Steve, the actor who plays Robin Hood, and Annika changed throughout the book. All in all, this book was filled with compassion that many readers will relate to.
