A book from before the Civil War when there was fighting in Kanses between the Bushwackers and the Jayhawkers.

Opinion:

Jayhawkers is a descriptive story about the days leading up to the Civil War in Kansas and Nebraska and the tensions between pro-slavery andanti-slavery groups.  This book will give you insight into the thinking and rage of men like John Brown who wanted to abolish slavery but met with a lot of resistance from their fellow Americans who did not agree with them.  The hostilities at the time between friends and families is nicely presented in this very interesting historical ficiton.
