Jade Dreams is about a sixteen year old girl named Becca.
Becca is part Chinese, part French, part African American,
part English, and part Cherokee. Becca has been having weird
dreams all her life.  Becca's parents recently went missing
in a car crash that ended in an explosion.  She has a little
brother named Timmy and an Aunt named Sarah.  When Becca and
Timmy go to a kendo expo, Becca makes a promise to Timmy
that she will try to learn martial arts. However, before
Master Miyamoto will train her, she has to find the Jade
sword. Becca goes through a lot of trials before she finds
the sword. While she is out trying to find the sword, her
brother is kidnapped. Now Becca has to learn martial arts to
save him. Will Becca get her brother back? Will she ever
find out what happened to her parents?

Opinion:

Jade Dreams was a good book. It deals with loss, and contains action and
magic. I liked all the characters and thought they were
believable. The book sort of had traces of Mulan in it, but
not quite. The plot is nicely thought out. I like how the
author connected the Jade sword to Becca's dreams. The pace
of this book moves along nicely. I enjoyed the book. I
recommend this book for people who like action and
magic.
