This book, How I stole Johnny Depp's Alien Girlfriend by Gary Chislain, was, in my opinion, hilarious. Then again, you might have been able to figure that out from the title. David Gershwin is the son of a psychiatrist. The story starts when his dad's new patient, Zelda, says she's from the planet Vahalal. She's on a mission to find her "Chosen One" (Johnny Depp) and she is unable to leave without him. She later tells Davis that she arrived on earth by "Space Splash" (a kind of teleportation) but since she traveled a long distance, she got "space flop" and can't leave without the risk of dying. At first David tries to convince her to stop her search but, when he can't, he helps her. Will Zelda succeed? Will they get caught? Read the book and find out?

Opinion:

I enjoyed this book because it is an easy read that kept me up late laughing. I also liked the complete randomness of the plot. Things unexpectedly happen. There's really funny dialog and ideas. The story takes some odd turns that I didn't expect in the slightest. If you love quirky, funny, surprising stories, you'll love this book.
