Violet can't take it anymore. Her mother has tricked widow after widow into handing over their fortunes. In return she shows them visions of their dead loved ones, and always gets away with it. Violet hates that her mother is a fake medium. Then comes the call to attend to Lord Jasper's' estate. While her mother is fooling more people, Violet experiences a vision that is something her mother didn't create. Suddenly she finds herself right in the middle of an unsolved murder mystery. The ghost won't disappear until her killers are killed and the only person Violet can trust right now is Colin, her mother's assistant. He's the one she loves but can never be with. Will Colin and Violet ever be together? Will the murderer be discovered or will it always remain a deep and dark mystery.

Opinion:

This book is a really magical tale that entices the reader. I didn't especially like the book because I'm not the type who will read murder mysteries, but I had to keep reading just to see what happened. The story is set back in the 19th century and is a little odd or awkward at times because of this. Although the book is tragic and has you on the edge of tears a lot, it is thoroughly enjoyable. However, I don't suggest this book for younger kids. I recommend this book to people who love historical romance mysteries.
