Charlie Gordon, a person with low intelligence, tells his story in a series of progress reports as he eventually has a brain operation to make him smarter. This changes Charlie's life in many unexpected ways.

Opinion:

Flowers For Algeron is a great story with excellent character development and a very interesting plot that keeps you captivated from beginning to end.  You truly feel for Charlie as he goes through different stages  in his life and suffer along with him during his interactions with others.  This book is a classic and should be read by all teens, especlally those going into the medicine or health fields since it gives you an appreciation for how medical conditions can affect the way you are perceived and treated in life.
