The Fetch by Chris Humphreys is about a boy named Sky with a very unique family heritage and legacy. Sky begins to notice strange events through Sky's curiosity about his mysterious grandfather, and when Sky discovers a bag of Runes in his grandfather's old sea chest, his whole life is turned upside down. This event marked the beginning of a miraculous adventure that would take him back in time to truly learn about his ancestors all with the help of his grandfather and the bag of runes. This book will cause readers to question the fundamental principles of human existence.

Opinion:

I was very intrigued by this book. The author did an excellent job of exposing me to the fabric of what the runes are based on. This book has many twists and turns along with a much unexpected ending that will make readers want to read more and more. The author did a great job in distinctly describing the setting of each chapter, and this aspect will pull readers in because they feel like they are right in the scene. This series of books is not like a traditional series because it has such an abstract subject, and that is why these books will be very successful. In conclusion, I was mystified by this book, and I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series

Violent events such as battle scenes with vikings and some refrences to death and the underworld. Much like the violence in recent Harry Potter books.
