This book was about a girl named Emmy. Emmy can talk to rats but really doesn't want to. All she wants is to be normal. She wants so badly to be normal that she tries to ignore her close rodent friends when they talk to her. This is extremely difficult for her because Rodent city (the place where lots of rodents live) is being taken over by an evil genius and thief, Ms. Barmy. Ms. Barmy has some slaves that are really shrunken little girls that she calls the troubled girls. About a month before this story starts Ms. Barmy had tried to turn Emmy into one of these girls and failed. When Ms. Barmy plans a special surprise for rodent city that just might win them over (just a few short weeks after attempting to kill every rodent in the city), even her enemies have to admit that she is pretty smart. Will Emmy save the city and the troubled girls??? Is Ms. Barmy good now??? Important questions such as these are answered in Emmy and the home for troubled girls .

Opinion:

This book had a complicated story line to say the least. This made the book hard to get though. It had two redeeming qualities. One was that it was very funny, and two was that it was so suspenseful that I couldnt stop reading. The book doesnt stop taking twists and turns until the 2nd to last page. I seriously would have stopped reading if I didnt want to know what was going to happen. I would recommend this book to all my friends who are a year or two younger like in fourth or fifth grade.
