When young Daniel and his sister Beatrice leave boarding
school to go visit their parents, the siblings learn that
their parents have gone to India. So Beatrice and Daniel
must travel to see Ernest Drake, one of their parents'
good friends. Once Beatrice and Daniel arrive at Ernest's
castle, they learn they are going to another boarding
school, where Ernest is the teacher, and the main subject
of study is Dragonology.  He takes them outside and
teaches them how to track, and approach dragons. They also
receive a visit from a special species of dragons. The
more Daniel and Beatrice learn, the more dangerous the
environment becomes, as evil Ignatius Cook tries to steal
the most important possession of the dragons and
dragonologists: the Dragon's Eye. Can Beatrice, Daniel,
and Ernest Drake defeat Ignatius Cook?

Opinion:

The Dragons Eye was pretty appealing, but I think the descriptions could
have been more thorough. It was a particularly easy read,
and I would have liked it more if it was a little more
modern, or a little more realistic. If I were younger I
may have liked it more, but it wasnt too bad, because I
was glued to the book. This is a definite page turner, and
it was very interesting, but it wasnt the best book Ive
ever read. I recommend this book to anyone who has a great
imagination and would like an upper elementary leveled
book. I wouldnt recommend this for first through third
graders, because it was pretty graphic so I think this
book would appeal most to readers aged 8-10.
