Bliss Inthemorningdew experiences what it feels like to be a fish out of water when she leaves the hippie commune and is required to stay with her proud grandmother. Before she knows it, she is enrolled at the elite private school of the area and is trying to survive high school, literally. Besides catching up with the trends, she has to infiltrate the school cliques. Along with becoming friends with a group of girls and liking a boy, Bliss befriends Sandy, a troubled girl, whose ambition puts Bliss and everyone she knows in danger. When dark secrets from the past come back to haunt the present, it will come down to Bliss to save the day.

Opinion:

This book was a page turning read that I couldn't put down for a minute. I was caught up in the vivid descriptions of feelings. I applaud Lauren Myracle for giving such depth and intensity to each and every character. Even though this was staged at the end of the 1960s, I could relate to the everyday pressure of high school life. I would suggest this book to anyone who finds themselves in need of a thoughtful and penetrating read.
