LitPick Review
Batgirl is the third story in Lisa Yee's Super Hero High series. If you enjoyed the first two, then you are going to love the suspense of Batgirl!
Barbara Gordon is just an average technology loving geeky teenager when her friend, Supergirl, recognizes the value of her unique talents and recruits her for Super Hero High. Barbara, who has taken on the persona of Batgirl, has her super hero friends to help prepare her to be a hero, despite her lack of "real powers."
Batgirl is more than willing to lend a techie hand to anyone who needs it. It was just a matter of time until someone took advantage of her generosity, kind nature, and naiveté.
No spoilers here, so be sure to read for yourself to see what happens to Batgirl and how she handles the pressure.
Opinion:
Each addition in this lady super hero series is better than the one before it! There are references to DC comic characters throughout the entire story, both good and "bad," which is exciting for any DC fan!
Lisa Yee does a superb job of developing the super hero characters, but at the same time she reminds the reader that Batgirl (AKA Barbara) is just a teenager. I love how she empowers Batgirl and makes her an excellent role model for young readers!
