Both stories in Ballistic Babes by John Zakour and Lawrence Ganem are extremely funny and full of adventure and witty banter. Yet still, the book holds the mystery aspect as any mystery book written. You are dragged through two different cases in Zachary Nixon Johnsons head, but you have HARV (or HARA depending on the case) to keep you company. HARV is Zachs trusty and handy side kick that is wired right into his brain and is one of the smartest computers in the world. Made by Dr. Randy Pool, Zachs clumsy and socially inept friend who basically uses Zach as a guinea pig for his gadgets. Also, you meet Electra, Zachs crazy girlfriend and her niece Carol who works for Zach and has psychic abilitys. Caught between life threatening situations everyday, death threats, elves, murders, and robots, this book will take you on the ride of your life during the year 2060.

Opinion:

I thought that this book was totally awesome and funny. I encountered new situations that I would never dream of that are written ingeniously. I love the fact that Zach is a throwback to the 1940s with his trench coat, fedora (oh the fedora) and his references to things nobody knows about. The characters are unique and one of a kind that you can relate to at times. Not that I know what a PI goes through in the future, but you can definitely see where hes coming from. The book is a must read for mystery lovers and sci-fi lovers alike.
