Anna Soler is in her senior year at Alexandria Prep Academy. After being dumped by her boyfriend, Palmer, she struggles to make amends with her long-time friends who she ditched for him.  Suddenly, students’ lives are turned upside down when their phones are hacked and their private information leaked. Friendships are torn apart and no one knows who is going to be next. Anna tries to keep a level head while dealing with Social Anxiety Disorder and the chaos that her school has descended into.

Opinion:

This book was interesting! It was fairly short at just under 250 pages and it kept me reading until I finished it. I wanted to know what would happen next, find out who was leaking the information, and whose private lives would be released to the public next. I did, however, have some issues with this book.

One problem that I had with the story was that I found myself feeling little sympathy for any of the characters (sans Anna’s friend Nikki). I thought Anna was quite selfish and honestly, a pretty awful friend. She never truly seemed concerned for her friends’ feelings, just her own. On the other hand, one thing I did like was that Anna’s Social Anxiety Disorder seemed realistic and relatable.

Another problem that I had with the book was that the writing seemed to be a little young. It was almost as if the author had written a book for much younger children and then changed it at the last minute to add more inappropriate content. This made it very hard to select an age range for this book, as it deals with heavier topics, but with juvenile writing. As for the ending, I thought it was unrealistic.  It all seemed too much like the author just wrapped it up in a nice bow. Sometimes, there is no need for a happy ending. I believe this was one of those times.

In spite of the book's flaws, I would say that I did enjoy it fairly well.  I finished it in one sitting, so that has to count for something, right? 3/5 stars
