Prince Sameth and Lirael must stop the Destroyer from being unleashed. Hedge, a servant of the Destroyer, plans to use the influence Nick Sayre, a friend of Prince Sameth from across the Wall, to join the two parts that the Destroyer has been halved into. Once the Destroyer is whole he will wreak havoc on everyone and everything, demolishing the world. Lirael must seek a way to bind the Destroyer back into its to parts before it is too late.

Opinion:

"Abhorsen" is the last book in the trilogy that began with "Sabriel." I thought that "Lirael" was better than "Sabriel" after I had read both, but now that I have read "Abhorsen," I have decided that it was the best book in the trilogy. This is because "Lirael" was something of a buildup to it. Therefore, "Abhorsen" was action packed and the whole book was a climax to the whole trilogy with a superb ending, unlike in other books where only the last ten pages are thrilling. The Abhorsen trilogy is the best trilogy that I have ever read. Yes, even better then the Harry Potter books.
