Synopsis: Toks has never considered herself as anyone special and her life is pretty ordinary for the most part. The only thing she cares about is moving out from home away her mother’s watchful eye and having a real life outside school.
As it is, she has just started graduate school under the tutelage of the eccentric, grumpy but brilliant scientist Professor Johnson as part of his research team which already consists of three other interesting, brilliant students and quickly gets to work creating a ‘miracle’ hair growth formula. However, just when Toks thinks she’s on the verge of a breakthrough with her hair formulation, Professor Johnson rejects her thesis proposal and wants her to catalog the metabolic characteristics of some bacterium instead, which is nothing more than pointless grunt work in Toks’s view. To make matters worse, this new assignment is also the most unpromising research project in his entire group. Professor Johnson has either gone nuts or is onto something.
But unknown to her and her fellow students, Professor Johnson is secretly working for the CIA to uncover a mysterious plot involving a dangerous group known as the Shango Triangle who have made it clear to the professor that they want his top secret research project for themselves and will do anything to get it. When the CIA’s plans to capture the master mind of the Shango Triangle go awry and the respected professor is unable to continue, Toks becomes an unwitting star in the conspiracy and it becomes a race against time to discover what the professor was involved with in order to save the lives of her family and friends. As Toks works to uncover the mystery, she finds herself in the middle of a plot that is an intoxicating concoction of espionage and secrecy. The only question now is, will Toks make it through the semester intact or will she be a casualty by association?

After tuning one’s ear to the rhythm of the swamps, any stray noise got adrenaline flowing. The peace had shattered. They were coming for Regina Shen.
Perfect for fans of the Hunger Games, Divergent, and Maze Runner. Regina Shen: Vigilance is the second book in a science fiction thriller series with an ordinary yet strong young woman facing extraordinary hurdles with tenacity.
The World Federation condemned Regina and her family to live on the seaward side of barrier walls as outcasts. Those walls were built to hold back rising seas caused by abrupt climate change. For two years Regina struggled with guilt over failing to rescue her younger sister. Under a tough teacher, she trained hard, salvaged illegal books from the depths, and committed them to memory. Another storm bears down. It’s time for Regina to cross the barrier wall into the Federation to hunt for her sister. Is she ready?
The Federation operates with a rigid caste system and the notorious Department of Antiquities. They keep peace and order by destroying all evidence from before the Great Collapse. World fertility is plunging. Chief Inspector Joanne Demarco pursues Regina for unique DNA that could prevent human extinction and boost the inspector’s power base. Demarco has a ruthless rival who seeks to use Regina to overthrow the inspector. They both descend on Regina. She would rather die than help the people who kidnapped her sister.
Nothing goes according to plan for Regina. Pursued by agents, she becomes an illegal immigrant to the Federation, trying to avoid capture in a world suspicious of outsiders. As she gets closer to where the Federation holds her sister, Regina faces seemingly impossible obstacles. Guilt over failing her sister in the past urges her on. If she gets caught, Regina will be sent to an underground bio-lab never to see daylight, her family or friends again. When Regina thinks things can’t get worse, she learns that two rival inspectors are fighting to capture her and using her sister as bait.
Can Regina locate her sister and help her escape from an obvious trap without getting caught or killed?

FEDERAL UNION HUNTS BOYS ...
REBELLIOUS GIRL FOLLOWS CONSCIENCE ...
SHE'S DRAFTED TO OBEY ORDERS.
_____________________________________________________
Annabelle Scott tries to keep her rebellious thoughts to herself, avoid the draft, and protect her younger sister. The Federal Union forces her to be a police intern. She gets into trouble and is offered an impossible choice.
Perfect for fans of the Hunger Games, Divergent, and Maze Runner. The Rebel Within is the first book in a science fiction thriller series in which a young woman is drafted into the police and then into the elite military to enforce laws she believes are wrong.
A second American Civil War ended in a shaky stalemate dividing the country into the "civilized" Federal Union and the warlord-controlled mountainous Outland. Annabelle lost her biological parents to the conflict when she was little and was adopted by a member of the Union's political opposition. The loss of her parents and her adoptive mother's opposition lead Annabelle to be rebellious in a society that promotes conformity and punishes disobedience.
Annabelle has never met a boy. The only time she sees them is at a prison across from her school while she's in detention or when she escapes to the roof. A redhead has caught her attention, but boys are forbidden.
When the redheaded Morgan escapes prison, Annabelle feels compelled to help him and almost gets caught. Frustrated, she fights an amazon bully to protect her sister and is arrested. To avoid prison, which would take her from her family, Annabelle joins the dreaded Mechanized Warriors, tasked with capturing escaped boys.
If she fails the arduous military requirements, Annabelle risks death, imprisonment or being sent to the Outland as a slave. She also endangers her beloved sister and adoptive mom. Can Annabelle survive rigorous training under a tough commander, stay true to her conscience, and help Morgan without destroying herself and her family?

BOY BEGS FOR ANNABELLE’S HELP …
ANNABELLE HAS AUDIO IMPLANTS, CONTACT CAMERAS, AND NO PRIVACY …
HELPING COULD DESTROY HER FAMILY.

Helping a boy escape may not have been Annabelle Scott’s smartest move. Her military commander assigns her an undercover mission to spy on local police and gives her audio implants and contact cameras to hear and watch everything she does.
Perfect for fans of the Hunger Games, Divergent, and Maze Runner. The Rebel Trap is the second book in a science fiction thriller series in which a young woman is drafted into the elite military to enforce laws she believes are wrong.
A second American Civil War ended in a shaky stalemate with the country divided into the “civilized” Federal Union and the warlord-controlled Outland. Annabelle lost her biological parents to the conflict when she was little and was adopted by a member of the Union’s political opposition. The loss of her parents and her adoptive mom’s opposition leads Annabelle to be rebellious in a society where conformity is everything and disobedience is punished.
Drafted into the elite military to capture escaped boys, she stayed true to her conscience by helping Morgan to escape, but there are consequences. He hacks her implants to plead for her help to rescue his brother from a heavily guarded geek institute. Suspected of helping Morgan and with her mom in the opposition, Annabelle risks getting the boy and his brother killed, her mom framed for treason, and her and her sister imprisoned, killed, or sent to the Outland as slaves.
Unable to get either her commander or Morgan out of her head, Annabelle can’t confide in anyone, which tears at her bond to her sister and mom. As a pawn in a bigger game, who and what can Annabelle trust, including whether her mission is the commander’s vendetta? Can she find a way to help Morgan and discover the link between an attempted assassination of her mom, the geek institute, and her corrupt police captain without leading Morgan into a trap or destroying herself and her family?

Synopsis: Is Destiny determined by the future or the past?
Ronald Reagan is President and the city of Denver is reeling from the 1970s Oil Boom when sixteen-year-old- Jett finds employment making confections for Watson's Candies. But when tragedy strikes, the hard-as-nails orphan wakes up in the psychiatric ward of a strangely altered word where her very words could spell doom.
The Psychiatrist blinked at me, and just that fast, I knew I must have said something wrong. The clothes, the old cars, the peculiar cadence of their speech; my skin danced with goose pimples and I shivered. I tried to ignore the fear creeping up my back. "What is today's date?"
"October the twenty-ninth," the nurse said.
"And the year? What's the year?" My heart was pounding and I was starting to hyperventilate. Tears flooded my eyes, blurring the scene before me. I was being swept away by emotional forces so strong I couldn't stem the tide. I was so afraid of what they were going to say.
"Why, it's 1927, my dear."

Synopsis: The children of world leaders are held hostage in an attempt to keep the peace in this “slyly humorous, starkly thought-provoking” (Kirkus Reviews, starred review) novel.
Greta is a Duchess and a Crown Princess. She is also a Child of Peace, a hostage held by the de facto ruler of the world, the great Artificial Intelligence, Talis. This is how the game is played: if you want to rule, you must give one of your children as a hostage. Start a war and your hostage dies.
The system has worked for centuries. Parents don’t want to see their children murdered.
Greta will be free if she can make it to her eighteenth birthday. Until then she is prepared to die with dignity, if necessary. But everything changes when Elian arrives at the Precepture. He’s a hostage from a new American alliance, and he defies the machines that control every part of their lives—and is severely punished for it. His rebellion opens Greta’s eyes to the brutality of the rules they live under, and to the subtle resistance of her companions. And Greta discovers her own quiet power.
Then Elian’s country declares war on Greta’s and invades the prefecture, taking the hostages hostage. Now the great Talis is furious, and coming himself to deliver punishment. Which surely means that Greta and Elian will be killed...unless Greta can think of a way to break all the rules.

Synopsis: Darkness can hide in the brightest of places...
Pickaxes, grime, and watery oatmeal are all sixteen-year-old Heart has ever known. But when strange visions and a hidden map hint there's more to life than she's been led to believe -- boys being one of them -- only one thing weighs on her mind. Escape.
Yet freedom is a tease. Heart merely trades her small prison for a larger one -- a transparent dome controlled by the Guardian, an aging leader bent on creating a genetically perfect race. Heart's birthmark on her shoulder? An abomination that carries a lifetime sentence of slavery for females.
Refusing to let a glass ceiling deter her, Heart searches for a way out of the dome. But unraveling the Guardian's secrets is a risky endeavor. Synopsis: Robi’s Flying Saucer Drive-In: girls now have their answer to the Wimpy Kid series for boys.
"The classroom door opens slowly and a leaf blows in. It is a colored one even though we start school in late August and the trees outside are all green. A girl walks in.
She has the palest skin I have ever seen. Maybe it is transparent. I can see little blue veins. I think, oh, maybe that is because of the light. Her eyes graze mine. Hers are dotted like a leopard's, pale bronze on yellow. Wild."
When her parents buy a new restaurant--Robi's Flying Saucer Drive-In--Saffron Wilson decides to work there part time. She wants to earn some money--and begin to take control of her own life. Next thing Saffron knows, a carnival has set up behind the restaurant, bringing with it a new friend. Clair Villeneuve appears to be 14 years of age but, as Saffron discovers, is actually much, much, much older. And she seems oddly familiar with everything their astronomy teacher shares with their class, including his belief that the universe is full of life.
When Clair is unexpectedly left behind by the carnival, Saffron learns that not only is her friend in danger but someone is trying to prevent her from completing a secret mission here on Earth. Will Saffron come to terms with her responsibility to help Clair? Will she discover the true nature of Clair's mission? And can Saffron actually protect Clair--even though time seems to be running out?

Synopsis: You'd think being indestructible would be an easy life…
Unless you're Morticia Thane, living-dead amnesiac and government agent. Thane hasn't been able to regain her memories, even with the combined resources of the FBI and US armed forces. They certainly make good use of her abilities, however, using her to break up a human trafficking ring.
Thane is called back to her old unit, a group of misfit teens much liker herself. While tracking down the Extraterrestrial fugitive Dr. Kass they are hurtled back through time to the American Revolution. Hampered by their lack of historical knowledge (Franklin is the guy on the hundred dollar bill, right?) and their own bickering, they struggle to achieve their goal; Save the future of the human race.
Perhaps Benjamin Franklin, founding father and inventor can help...if he can stop being distracted by his misogynistic tendencies and libido.
Thane must face both the Redcoat army and her own lack of faith in humanity. Can she pull her team together and save the world one more time? Or will her disillusionment mean the end of our history?
We the People: Liberty or Death is full of action, angst, zombies, and enough belly-laughs to thrill you no matter what century you were born in.
