When Cora's father dies and she discovers her family isn't entirely human, she finds herself surrounded by people who are even less human than she is. Cora is left wondering what these new people want from her, and why they haunt her dreams. Now she fights to save what is left of her family from the alluring abilities of creatures she never dreamed existed, while trying to understand what she is truly capable of and just how far she is willing to go to save them.

Cora expects to enjoy a welcome reprieve when she arrives at an ideal vacation spot: a secluded castle on a warm, sunny island. She has recently suffered the loss of her father, and now needs a little rest and time to be with her family. Instead of losing herself in sun and sand, though, she discovers that her heritage is unique and extraordinary. To make matters even more complicated, Cora finds herself being pursued by guys straight out of legends who won't give up.
