The Very Little Princess is about a girl nanmed Zoey who has never had anyone in her life except her mom. This all changes one day when her mom tells her to go and pack because they are going to her grandmothers' house. When they get to her grandmother's house, Zoey sets off to explore while her grandma and her mom are argueing about why she never brought Zoey there before. While she is exploring she discovers a tiny dollhouse in a room full of pink things. In the dollhouse there is a miniature princess doll who can talk and move around but only when a tear lands on her. Zoey finds it amusing to be the doll's servant and brings her to all these places including her throne room. When she gets back from their little adventures she finds out that her mom never intended to stay with her there. In fact, her mom was planing on leaving Zoey with her grandmother whom she has never met before in her entire life. After her mom leaves, Zoey finds out how the doll can stay alive forever and she teaches the doll a variety of things. As for Zoey and her grandmother, they become much closer.

Opinion:

I think this book is geared towards a younger age group than I. This book was very easy reading and I could've read it easily in an hour. It is probably made for 4th and 5th graders rather than 8th graders like myself. I thought this book was a little too easy to read and overall, it was not that appealing to me. It could've been better with the use of more details.
