Lanore is not like all of us. She was born in the 1800s and is now over 200 years old, because she was captured and made immortal. Then trapped her wicked maker, Adair. Its now been 200 years since she and her best friend and lover Johnathan trapped him behind a brick wall in his own house, and a lot has happened since. Now she lives with her new lover Luke Findlay in London and is sorting through all of her accumulated treasures to give away. Then, while looking at her items at a museum, she feels it. That tingling sense in her head that she had when Adair was around is back again, which only means one thing; Adair is back and very much alive. All of her fears come rushing back to her, what will she do, where can she go to get away or even worse, what will he do to her if he finds her.

Opinion:

The Reckoning was a good follow up to The Taker, but in my opinion, it wasn't as good. Both have the unexpected twists and turns every good book should, but in the first one, I found the characters to be more personable and relatable. One thing I absolutely love about these books though is the way the author made then supernatural without adding all the vampires and werewolves mojo in it, and I also found that I liked the flashbacks to the past more interesting than the present. Overall, it was a riveting summer read and I highly suggest reading it.
