LitPick Review
Tiffany's Table Manners for Teenagers by Walter Hoving is a brief reminder of the proper manners expected at parties and at the dinner table. Technically, this book is aimed at teenagers; however it is really appropriate for anyone. There are several helpful hints such as how to correctly hold a fork and how to eat an artichoke. Along with the useful tips, there are cute black and white doodles to help understand the pointers. This book is a quick read and the perfect way to reinforce (or learn) respectful manners before attending parties or a get-together.
Opinion:
This book is very straightforward and short (it's only 96 pages!). Even though it is called Tiffany's Table Manners for Teenagers, it is pretty fitting for any age. The writing is very old fashioned but simple to understand. However, there are some sentences that are supposed to be humorous that are not very funny. The length of the book is perfect for anyone at any age. It is a brief read with several helpful manners. At times I found it cute and other times kind of dry. Even though it was dull, it was useful in refreshing my manners and I learned how to properly hold a fork! Overall, I recommend all children and teenagers read this book.
