Z: Zombie Stories is a collection of short stories that revolve around zombies. Each story takes place in a different world created by the story's author, so zombies in one story may have emotions while those in another story are soulless, heartless creatures. The stories also have varying points of view. Some are narrated by zombies, and some are narrated by outsiders. All of the narrators are teens or young adults, so the stories are easy to relate to. My favorite story from the book follows a boy as he learns that being a zombie bounty hunter is not all fun and games.

Opinion:

Because Z: Zombie Stories is a compilation of short stories, the quality of writing really does vary between stories. While some stories had very engaging plot lines and character development, others were severely lacking in multiple ways. At times I found myself reluctant to pick up the book or struggling to get through one story just to get to the next one. However, I do not regret reading the book, because some of the stories were definitely worth it. Personally I thought it was interesting how different authors approached the zombie apocalypse - its causes and spread, worldwide reaction, aftermath, etc.

Being a book of zombie stories, it gets rather graphic at times.
