Troll of the Hamptons is about a woman named Willow Tate who writes comic books for a living. She has a fairly normal life; nosy parents, boyfriend who she's doesn't really love, and makes it by with her job as an author. Well, that is at least until she starts coming up with a new idea for a comic. It's about a giant, red, marble troll. Then, suddenly, the troll she had just sketched out appears in the middle of New York. Everyone else sees the troll as a trolley car or a red truck, so of course Willow thinks she's crazy, but soon finds that she has just fallen into a huge secret. Fairies, trolls, ogres, all of it's real. And of course, she then must go on a adventure to save the world from an evil mastermind and save a baby who speaks the language of these mythical creatures, discovering more and more about this other world that she never knew existed.

Opinion:

I personally did not like this book. I thought the plot was slow and full of unnecessary "adult content", including lots of unnecessary sexual scenes. This book is not for young kids. The idea is also just a bad one. The author tried to somehow mix the realistic fiction life of a character into a fantasy plot and failed miserably. I simply had trouble reading it, it just wasn't interesting. So in summary, I think this book is mediocre and I just didn't like it. The author could have easily improved the book just by adding some interesting action and taking out some of the unnecessary personal problems.
