LitPick Review
Skin tells the story of Nick Barry, who knows his skin rashes and breakouts are more than what meets the eye. When we first meet Nick, he is trying to comprehend what the skin rash is and why nobody can have a common explanation for it. He is also consumed with raging anger and terrifying thoughts. People from his community try to help and discover somebody with the same problems as Nick who committed suicide in 1966. While reading the teen's diary, Nick uses his friends and family to fight the evil inside of him known as Al.
Opinion:
This book was ok, being in the sense it was a little graphic for some younger readers when they describe some of the horror parts. It had only a little story to it and the main message was basically that good wins over evil no matter what and that God will help you with anything, but it is barely visible underneath all the graphic content and murder details. This book also has some mild language and some mature themes like suicide and murder. This book really promotes God in a good way and that is why I rated it a 4.
