John and Lorraine have just had a very extraordinary experience and they recount it in this book.  The story is about the Pigman and the strange friendship he has with John and Lorraine.  

Opinion: 

The book sends a message that no matter how weird or outlandish a person may seem when you first meet them they could become your best friend.
