Once again, Mr. Yep gives us a story about Chinese culture during the early 1900's in America.  He shows how as immigrants, the Chinese who came to the US at that time faced many hardships but through their determination and hardwork were able to succeed.  This book provides hope for all immigrants coming to the US because there are opportunities if you look for them.
