Nikki had gotten everything she wanted when she came to Erin Heights, a new best friend that was the most popular girl in the school, intent popularity, and the hottest guy in the school as her boy friend. Or at least she thought so. When a super cute boy named Michael tells her that her long lost dad is really the demon king of the Shadowlands and she is a darkling, (half human half demon) her life is turned upside down. When she follows Michael to the shadow lands she finds just how powerful she is. On top of all of this her father is dieing and she is next in line for the thrown. Not to mention her major crush on Michael has to be kept secret.

Opinion:

Maybe it was because I had such low expectations of the book before I read it but I loved this book. It has something for everyone from romance, to action, to fancy. This book grabs you from page one and makes it imposable to set down. Although its not the best book in the world its defiantly on my top ten. The lure of forbidden love is very strong throughout the book. I would recommend this to any girl that liked The Mortal Instruments series. This is defiantly a series I will continue to read.
