Eragon, a teenage boy, and his young dragon, Saphira are faced with the ultimate challenge, defeating the evil, ruthless, and powerful King Galbitorix. First Eragon, who six months ago was a mere farm boy, must defeat all of King Galbatorixs forces, including another Dragon Rider, who can strike dangerously close to home. He is not alone though, backing him are: the Varden, (rebels) the dwarves of Farthen Dur, the elves of Du Weldenvarden the urgals under Nar Garvzhog, his cousin, Roran Stronghammer, and the villagers of his home town, Carvahall. But sometimes, friends are more dangerous than enemies. And we think being a normal teenager is hard.

Opinion:

This book is AWESOME! The plot is intricate, every detail taken into account. The characters have so much depth, you feel like they're old friends. You never know more than the character does, so every twist and turn is a surprise. Not only is there action, but there's romance, comedy, and politics, all of which Eragon finds himself in the middle of. (Poor guy) Paolini does a great job of bringing two completely different hardships and characters together to make an amazing plot. This book happens to be a deluxe edition. As for the extras, the deleted scenes are touching, and well written, they correspond with the story well but have no real connection to the plot so the story can be understood without them. Paolini also happens to be a very good artist and the Lethrblaka poster (done by an illustrator) couldnt be more real or terrifying. The dwarfish runes are interesting and fun to write with because no one knows what your writing.
