Written in first person, the main character is a typical thirteen-year-old. He enters 7th grade, thinking one of his teachers hates his guts. Of course she doesn't or does she?

All these combine for a good read.

I thought the book was very good. It is well-written in a style that captures the attention of the reader from the beginning sentence. It is hilarious especially when the classroom pet rats escape and fall into the classroom via a ceiling tile and land on the teacher who hates his guts. It did not take me long to finish reading this book as it interested me from the "get-go". It was a believable book. These things could really have happened. This book would appeal to 6th through 8th graders.
