The Burning is about a Barn Owl named Soren, and his friends, Gylfie, an Elf Owl, Twilight, a Great Grey Owl, and Digger, a Burrowing Owl. These four, along with some other owls, go on a quest to the North. In this quest, they are attempting to gather help for Ga'Hoole, the place that they live. The owls of Ga'Hoole are planning a strike in the battle against the Pure Ones. The Pure Ones are a group of evil Barn Owls that are led by Soren's brother, Kludd

Opinion:

This book was very interesting because it had a lot of fighting and battle between the Guardians of Ga'Hoole and the Pure Ones. This book, however, was hard to understand because it was book six in a series, and having not read the first five, I had to just go along with the references made back to the earlier books. I would recommend this book, but I would recommend reading the first five books in the series first.
