By The Time I'm Twenty
By The Time I'm Twenty
Willie James Jones
By The Time I'm Twenty is a one-act play with an antiviolence message for the youth in urban cities across this country—say no to drugs and stay in school. The story centers on Lawrence, a fifteen-year-old who wants to make it big in the hood by selling drugs out of his parent's home. He wants jewelry, name brand gym shoes, and popularity. However, when the two friends who talked him into selling drugs are killed in the crack house they were running, he has a change of heart. This decision evolves into a web of trouble he thought wouldn't happen. Now he must ask himself a million-dollar question: Will he make it to twenty?
