Wouldn't you think being a vampire is fun? Sure there is the constant worry about blood, but that may not be all of Ari's problems. In The Year of Disappearances, someone goes missing in Ari's town of Homosassa Springs, and Ari is one of the prime suspects. With the fear of being found out of her secret, she flees Homosassa Springs, and going to collage might not have been on her to-do list at age 14, but she gets in by lying about her age. While there, another friend from Homosassa comes to visit her. The visit is brought short, though, because she was mysteriously murdered.
