Set in 19th century Russia, Katerina is a duchess who desperately wants to become a doctor, despite the fact thatwomen aren't allowed to enter medical school. However,Russia is in an unstable time with evil forces threatening the tsar, and Katerina finds herself in danger because of her unique talent--being able to raise the dead. While she tries to learn the extent of her powers, she has to figure out who really wants to help her and who wants to use her.
