The gift has been passed down from generation to generation. On the way she gets in trouble with giving certain flowers to people and that people wanting more and more of the flowers done by her. She gets help from some of her mothers friends and hers. Laurel has some hard times during this book with flowers and other teenager stuff. So read the book to see what happens to Laurel.
