In the book a girl named Isabeau is turned into a vampire after her parents are killed. During the French Revolution, Isabeau went and found her way to her uncle's house. He threw a party and that's when she met Greyhavan changes her into a vampire and leaves her buried for 200 years. She loathes him for doing so and is sure to seek revenge someday.
